Medtech Reimbursement Intensive

The Medtech Reimbursement Intensive is a free-form, online course developed for medical technology entrepreneurs to help them enter the market.

This course provides entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge of medical markets in six markets: France, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.

It covers the reimbursement landscape of these markets, evidentiary requirements for new products and the role of health technology assessment organizations in the adoption of new technologies.

As each market is vastly different—ranging from a complex mix of public and private health insurance to single-payer systems—entering the health technology space can seem daunting. This course aims to assist entrepreneurs looking to bring their innovative medical devices to market, either locally or abroad, by providing “market backgrounders” for these six countries, along with brief case studies.

The case studies examine the path to regulatory approval for the following health technologies within each of the listed jurisdictions (excluding Canada):

  • Negative pressure wound therapy
  • Photo vaporization of the prostate
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery
  • Vagus nerve stimulation
  • In vitro diagnostic testing for HER2

The Medical Reimbursement Intensive course includes over 24 video lectures as well as accompanying documents to support entrepreneurs and their ventures.
